A clash broke out between police and people during the immersion of the statue late Monday night near Deendayal Chowk in Munger. One person was killed and many people were injured in the shooting. The video of the incident is going viral on social media, in which police are seen brutally raining poles on people. Police said in the cleanup that stone pelting and firing was done on behalf of anti-social elements, in which many policemen were injured. Tejaswi demanded investigation
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav compared the police administration to General Dyer and asked who gave the order to become General Dyer. Tejashwi Yadav expressed grief over the Munger incident. Tejashwi also said that the investigation of the incident should be conducted under the supervision of the High Court. Also, SP Lipi Singh should be removed immediately. At the same time, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala called the Munger incident a massacre.
